Southwest Airlines's Online Check-in allows you to check-in up to 24 hours before your flight departs.
If you going to use Online Check-in you have to check-in 60 minutes-24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart, you have an electronic ticket for a Southwest flight, you are not a special needs passenger.
Be sure you leave enough time at the airport to get through security, check your bags etc.
Also you will be able to print your boarding pass at home but will have to drop your bags with a Southwest sky cap or at a Southwest Airlines Check-in counter at the airport before the cut-off time.
You can’t change change or select your seat with Online Check-in.
Southwest recommends you arrive at the airport 1 - 2 hours before your flight.

Children up to 2 years old (24 months), are not required to have their own seat. Only one lap child is allowed per adult. You can also use a seat for your child as long as you have the proper child restraint device.
Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 10in x 16in x 24in. Each passenger is allowed 3 checked bags as long as each bag have 62 linear inches/157 cm and maximum weight 50 lb/23 kg.
Fee for any bag weighing 51-70 lb $25, for any bag weighing 71-100 lb $50. Bags weighing more than 100 lb will not be accepted. If a bag is both oversize and overweight, passengers will be charged both fees.
Fee for any bag between 63-80 inches $50. Bags exceeding 80 inches will not be accepted. If a bag is both oversize and overweight, passengers will be charged both fees.
Fee for additional bags 1-9: $50 each. Fee for additional bags 10+: $110 each. Additional bags are only permitted if space is available.
Some items, such as surfboards and bicycles will be charged a fixed handling fee of $50.
