Continental Airlines' Web Check-in allows you to check-in up to 24 hours before your flight departs if you fulfill following requirements:
- Check-in 1-24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart.
- You have an electronic ticket for a confirmed reservation on Continental.
- You are traveling from a United States airport or an approved International Airport. You are traveling in a group less than 11 people.
- Your itinerary contains less than five flight segments.
- You are not a special needs passenger.
Make sure you leave enough time at the airport to get through security, check your bags etc.
You will be able to print your boarding pass at home but will have to drop your bags with a Continental Airlines skycap, at a Continental Airlines Kiosk or Check-in counter at the airport before the cut-off time. When you use Online Check-in you can change/select your seat.
For domestic flights, the cut-off time for checking baggage is 30 minutes before your flight's departure time. If you are traveling from Atlanta, Denver, Las Vegas, Orlando or Tampa, the cut-off is 45 minutes. For international flights, the cut-off time for checking baggage is 60 minutes before your flight's departure time. Domestic passengers must be in the gate area at least 15 minutes before flight departure

Children up to 2 years old (24 months), are not required to have their own seat. Lap children can only be held by passengers who are at least 18 years of age. You can also choose to purchase a seat for your infant as long as you have the proper child restraint device.
While traveling domestically a child under 2 years old (24 months) can travel for free as long as the infant will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight.
While traveling internationally a child 7 days- 2 years old (24 months) is usually charged 10% of an adult fare plus taxes, even if the infant will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight.
Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. maximum dimensions of carry-on luggage 51 linear in/130 cm, maximum dimensions of personal item 40 lb/18 kg.
If traveling to/from Canada and within the Mainland U.S., including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or U.S. Virgin Islands each passenger is allowed 2 checked bags if maximum dimensions are 62 linear inches/157 cm, maximum weight is 50 lb/23 kg. If you are a OnePass Elite Member traveling in Economy Class, the maximum weight for any of your bags is 70 pounds/32 kg. If you are a First or BusinessFirst passenger you are allowed one additional bag. The maximum weight for any of your bags is 70 pounds/32 kg.
Fee for any bag weighing 51-70 lb: $25. Fee for any bag weighing 70-100 lb: $50. Bags weighing more than 100 lb will not be accepted. Fee for any bag over 63 in: $80. Fee for additional bags 1-3: $80 each. Fee for additional bags 4-6: $105 each. Fee for additional bags 7+: $180 each.
