Air Canada's Web Check-in allows you to check-in up to 12 hours before your flight departs.
To use Web Check-in you have to follow requirements:
- Check-in 1-24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart if flying within Canada.
- Check-in 1.5-24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart if flying to the United States.
- Check-in 2-24 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart if flying on an international flight.
- If departing from the United States, it must be from one of the following airports: ATL, BWI, BOS, ORD, DFW, FLL, BDL, HNL, IAH, LAS, LAX, MIA, LGA, EWR, SFO, TPA, DCA, or HPN.
- If departing from abroad, it must be from one of the following airports into Canada: LHR, Charles de Gaulle, or Tel Aviv.
- You are not a special needs passenger (i.e. unaccompanied minor).
Make sure you leave enough time at the airport to get through security, check your bags, etc.
If you have bags to check and want to use Web Check-in, you will be able to print your boarding pass at home but will have to drop your bags at an Air Canada Express bag drop-off or Air Canada check-in counter at the airport before the cut-off time.
When you use Web Check-in you can either change/select your seat, standby for an earlier flight, standby for an upgrade (if eligible).
If you are traveling within Canada, it is recommended to arrive at the airport 60 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure, while the cut-off time for checking in is 30 minutes before scheduled departure time.
If you are traveling within or to/from the U.S, it is recommended to arrive at the airport 90 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure, and the cut-off time for checking in is 45 minutes before scheduled departure time.
If you are traveling to/from an international destination, it is recommended to arrive at the airport 2 hours before your flight's scheduled departure; the cut-off time for checking in is 60 minutes before scheduled departure time.

Children under 2 years (24 months) are not required to have their own seat, but you have to inform Air Canada that you will be holding a child on your lap. Lap children can only be held by passengers who are at least 16 years of age. If you going to travel with more than one child under 2 years of age, a seat will have to be purchased for each additional child.
A child under 2 years old (24 months) can travel for free within Canada and to/from the United States as long as the child will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight. In international flights a child under 2 years old is usually charged 10% of an adult fare plus taxes, even if the infant will be on the lap of another passenger for the flight.
Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item
Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:
- Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 22in x 16in x 9in/55cm x 40cm x 23cm
- Maximum Dimensions of Personal Item: 17in x 13in x 6in/43cm x 33cm x 16cm
Checked Baggage Allowance
Passengers traveling in Economy Class to all destinations allow to have 2 pieces.
Passengers traveling in Executive Class or Executive First to any destination
Air Canada Elite and Super Elite passengers, traveling in any cabin to any destination allow to have 4 pieces.
